Witch King of Angmar

22" x 15" Unframed
56cm x 38cm
Acrylic

Not exactly Christmassy, but I thought I'd do a portrait of the Witch King. Very pleased with how the armour turned out, and I think he looks suitably menacing. :)

Lotro Artists

I was recently interviewed by the lovely Floradine from the Lotro Artists website, which is a great collection of articles about the fan-made music, art, fashion (and other aspects) of Lotro (Lord of the Rings online, a game which I love).

Here's a link to my interview:

Have a look at the rest of the website, it's really interesting even if you're not a Lotro player!

Winter in the Shire

17 3/4" x 14 1/2" Unframed
45cm x 37cm

Following on from my summery Hobbit hole, I wanted to get in the Christmas mood by painting a cosy, snow covered Shire. Tolkien said snow was quite rare in the Shire, but I wanted to imagine how pretty it would look. :)

It's been a little while since I posted - work and Birthdays got in the way a bit!

I'm 1/3rd of the way through a painting of King Thranduil, the King of the Woodland realm, from the Hobbit.

I've also started my interpretation of the Mirrormere, the lake beyond Moria that reflects stars even at mid-day.
